In the last ten years I’ve owned seven soprano saxophones. All but two were Yamahas, and as much as I love Yamaha Japanese-built instruments (I only ever played Yam altos and tenors) for some reason the two non-Yams have been ones I got along with best. They were the two cheapest too.
In fact my new/current soprano sax is the cheapest sax I’ve ever owned. It’s a tad clunky and the tuning is suspect, but it’s very playable. My church hall has reopened so I’m practicing every day.
Need a name for my cheap. It’s built in China, so maybe a Chinese name. Maybe not.
