There’s a saying in IT – stupid in, stupid out. Which is what I think every time YouTube gives me an advert for football, or gambling, or football-related gambling.
Because I don’t like football. And I don’t gamble.
Those algorithms paint with a broad brush. Sure, if someone has a mind to, they can focus their attentions on a single person, but for me, a generic YouTube user, they miss the target completely, every time.
Which is a waste of their money and my time.
